Activity log

An audit trail of every change made to a jobcard — who, what, and when

OwnerManagerReception

Every jobcard has an Activity tab that records what's been done to it. Status changes, edits, assignments, job authorisations, payments recorded — they all leave a line in the activity log, attributed to the user who did it and timestamped.

What you'll see

  • Status changes — "Booked In → In Progress (Sam, 10:42)"
  • Assignments — who got assigned the jobcard or a specific job
  • Authorisation flips — a job moving from recommended to authorised, etc.
  • Payments — when a manual payment was recorded
  • Inspection events — submissions started or completed

Who can see it

The Activity tab is gated by the activity.view permission. By default, technicians don't have it — they don't need an admin audit trail to do their work. Owners, managers and reception all see it.

See Permissions reference for the full matrix.

What it's not

The activity log is an internal audit trail, not customer-facing. It never appears on a printout or in an email to the customer. Use comments for things you want the customer to read.
