Inviting your team

Send invites by email — your team members create their own account on accepting

OwnerManager

The invite flow records that you've offered access to someone and emails them with a link. The link opens a dedicated accept page showing your company, the workshop, and the role they've been offered.

How to invite

Open Workshop Settings → Team

From the team list, click Invite Member.

Enter their email and pick a role

The role determines what they can do — see Permissions reference for the seeded defaults (Manager / Reception / Technician / Accountant), or use a custom role.

Send the invite

A "you've been invited" email goes to them via Resend. The invite record is stored in your company's invite list with a 7-day expiry.

They accept

The email link opens the accept page. New users enter their name, set a password, and click Create Account & Join; someone who already has a Pistonlog account just clicks Accept Invitation. Either way they land straight in your workshop.

Inviting someone who already uses Pistonlog?

If the invitee already has an account under your company, the accept page signs them straight into the new workshop — no new password needed. An invite sent to an email that belongs to a different company can't be accepted.

What if they ignore the email

Invites are valid for 7 days. After that, send a fresh invite. Pending invites are listed on the Team page, where you can also revoke one that was sent by mistake.

Removing someone

There's no self-service removal in the app yet. From the team list you can turn off their Assignable switch so they stop appearing in assignee pickers, and contact support to deactivate the account entirely. Their history stays intact (you can see who created jobcards from years ago) but a deactivated account can't log in.
