Your profile and preferences are personal — they have no effect on other team members. Profile changes follow your account everywhere; the landing page and Inspector tab preferences are saved in the browser you set them in.
Your profile
Your profile holds your display name, avatar, and password.
Open your profile
Click your name in the top bar, then select My Profile.
Make your changes
Update your Display Name, change your profile photo, or change your password. Save when done.
If you'd rather not type your current password, the profile page also has a Send a password reset link to your email action. Click it and Pistonlog emails the address on your account a link to set a new one.
Your preferences
Preferences control which alerts reach your phone, where you land after logging in, and which tab the Inspector panel opens on by default.
Open preferences
Click your name in the top bar, then select User Preferences.
Choose your mobile notifications
The Mobile Notifications card lists thirteen alert types with a switch each: work assignments, mentions, direct messages, failed inspection items, customer approval responses, and the diagnostics ones (answers, replies, accepted solutions, reproduced fixes, publication updates, profile claims, trust level, and moderation). Switching one off only stops the push to your phone; the alert still appears in your Pistonlog notification list. Moderation and appeals is a required account notification and can't be switched off.
Set your defaults
Choose your Landing page — the screen that opens when you log in (for example, My Work or the Workflow board). Then pick the Inspector panel's Default tab so the Inspector always opens on the section you use most.
Notification choices are per workshop
The Mobile Notifications card applies to the workshop you're currently in. If you work across more than one site, set them again after switching (see Switching between sites).
If you work primarily on the workshop floor, setting your landing page to My Work means your assigned jobs are front and centre as soon as you log in.
Light and dark mode
The theme switch lives in the same menu as your profile: click your name in the top bar, below My Profile and User Preferences. Clicking it cycles Light → Dark → System, where System follows whatever your computer or phone is set to. It's a per-device setting and affects nobody else.
