Issuing an invoice

Turning a completed jobcard into a customer invoice — printed, PDF'd, or sent with a payment link

OwnerManagerReception

Issuing an invoice from a completed jobcard is the moment work-done becomes money-owed. Pistonlog doesn't have a separate "issue" button — clicking Print or sending a Square payment link is what makes the jobcard a customer-facing invoice.

Three ways to deliver

Print

Click Print on the completed jobcard. The print preview shows the full invoice with your branding, the customer, the vehicle, every job's breakdown, and the totals with VAT. Send it to a printer or use the browser's Save as PDF.

Send a Square payment link by email

From the jobcard, click Take payment → Send email. A branded payment-link email goes to the customer with a tap-to-pay button. Free, no SMS credits. See Square email.

Send a Square payment link by SMS

Same as email but by SMS. Uses one SMS credit. Best for high-value invoices where you want the customer to see it on their phone.

What appears on the invoice

Per the rule in What customer-facing outputs always include: your garage branding, the jobcard reference, the date, the customer, the vehicle, and the full cost breakdown with VAT. Bank or payment instructions appear too.

VAT

VAT defaults from your Pricing settings. Each job can override VAT per-line if needed (e.g. a zero-rated item).
