The calendar is your workshop diary. Each entry is an appointment (usually tied to a jobcard, though standalone appointments work too), so you can see at a glance what vehicles are coming in and when. Appointments also appear on the workflow board and on the technician's job sheet, so the whole team stays in sync from a single booking.
Switch views
Open Calendar from the sidebar. Use the Month, Week, and Day tabs to change how much of the diary you see. Click Today at any time to jump back to the current date.
Book an appointment
You can create an appointment from the calendar itself or from inside a jobcard.
From the calendar:
Click a date or time slot
Click any day (or time slot in Week/Day view). A chooser opens asking what you'd like to create. In Month view the times are pre-filled from that day's working hours; in Week or Day view they start at the slot you clicked and run for an hour.
Choose what to create
Pick New Appointment for a standalone booking, or New Jobcard to create a jobcard booked in on this date.
Set the time and save
Confirm the date and times, then click Schedule (or create the jobcard).
From a jobcard:
Open the jobcard, go to the Appointments tab, and click New Appointment. Fill in the date and times, then click Schedule. The appointment appears on the calendar straight away.
Wherever you create an appointment, it shows up in both places — on the calendar and on the jobcard's Appointments tab. It also appears on the workflow board card and on the technician's job sheet as the booked-in date.
Clicking a booking on the calendar
Click an appointment and the Inspector panel opens alongside the calendar with that jobcard loaded. A standalone appointment with no jobcard behind it isn't clickable, because there's nothing to open.
The calendar itself is read-only: you can't drag a booking to a different day or time. Rescheduling happens on the jobcard.
Reschedule or cancel an appointment
Open the jobcard and go to its Appointments tab. Use the pencil icon to change the date and time, or the bin icon to delete the appointment entirely. When you change the date or time from here, Pistonlog offers to send the customer an amendment notice.
The amendment notice only comes from the jobcard
That prompt belongs to the jobcard's Appointments tab. If you edit an appointment anywhere else, the change saves but you are never offered the amendment notice, so the customer is left with the old date unless you tell them yourself.
Who can use the calendar
The calendar is built for Owner, Manager, and Reception roles. Technicians don't get the appointments.view permission by default, so the Appointments tab on a jobcard is hidden from them. The Calendar link is still in their sidebar, but it opens an empty calendar with no bookings on it. They work from their assigned jobcards via My Work.
Configure your working hours
Your working days and hours are set up separately. See Calendar settings for how to configure those.
