An appointment confirmation is a branded email or SMS sent to the customer when you book them in. Different from a reminder, which fires automatically as the date approaches.
What's in a confirmation email
Rich HTML, branded with your garage:
- Light blue header with a calendar icon and "Appointment Confirmed"
- Customer greeting
- UK number plate display of the vehicle
- Appointment date and time, large and bold
- Jobcard reference
- Call / WhatsApp / Email CTA buttons pointing back to your garage
The from address is derived from your garage name on Pistonlog's domain ({slugified-garage-name}@mail.pistonlog.com) so the email passes DKIM. If a customer wants to reach you, they use the Call / WhatsApp / Email CTA buttons in the body.
What's in a confirmation SMS
Short and plain — date, time, vehicle, jobcard ref, and your garage name. One credit per send.
How to send
Right after you create a jobcard with an appointment date, Pistonlog opens a dialog with two independent action cards: one for SMS, one for Email. Tap either to send via that channel, both if you want both, or close the dialog to skip both.
Send happens at jobcard creation time
Today there's no separate "send confirmation later" button on the jobcard or appointment. If you skipped at the creation step and want to send one afterwards, the simplest workarounds are to ask a customer to confirm verbally, or contact support to dispatch one programmatically.
